Spring Break Fun in Astoria

We headed North to Astoria for a day of fun in Astoria this spring break. Breakfast at the "Columbian Cafe" on Marine Drive is a must! This year they will celebrate their 30 year anniversary! Their food is amazing and you can sit right up at the counter if you like and watch the chef do his magic!  It's definitely a destination not to be missed!  Look for the red and white awning.

Our son chose a winner, lox, and caper scamble on lace potatoes!

Can you tell I didn't like mine much?  How does a mushroom, bacon and blue cheese crepe sound?
Every meal come with the most amazing homemade bread with an assortment of spicy jellies made by the chef!  What a treat!

We had to walk off our breakfast and discovered a few local characters!
There is fun to be found in Astoria!

If you are looking for decorating ideas check out "Ambiance" at 229 14th Street
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

After all that shopping we found ourselves a little thirsty.
If coffee is your thing, my son thinks the Astoria Coffee House rocks.
If coffee isn't your thing, I found a cute new little tea shop "All the Tea and China"
located on Commercial just past The Liberty Theatre.
I can't wait for our next adventure in Astoria, every time we go we find a new place!

I'm Back!

I'M BACK!
I feel as if my life has been on "freeze frame" the last 4 months, but I'm here to say "I'M BACK"!

One of my baby birds, received a Fullbright Scholarship to study Malaria in Africa for 10 months, completely by herself! Needless to say it was more difficult than I had thought it would be to watch her fly away, but the sleepless nights have gone away and I'm finding joy in my art and friends once again. Feeling so very proud of my incredibly intellegent and brave baby bird.
