North Coast Girlfriend Shopping Guide

For all of you girlfriends out there wanting a great beach shopping adventure, have I got the places for you to explore! My good friend Vickie and I managed to sneak away from our "men folk" for a few (well maybe "several" hours) over 4th of July. Because we all know:

We headed north from Manzanita to "The Yankee Trader" 4197 Hwy. 101 N. just north of Seaside. Owner Carrie Bergin really draws you into her shop with a bright display of red rain boots...treasures await inside!

Carrie has an amazing way of grouping treasures by colors!

But the real fun begins with her unique plaster cakes, one for each season! She will even custom make one for you for that special someone! I want one for each season!

A little further North we arrived at "Les Femmes de L'Ocean" in Warrenton. Unfortunately we found out that will be closing their doors but I posted a few pictures just to tease you!

We headed East to "Farm House Funk" (34888 Hwy 101 Business)Astoria A "Funky" find in farmland that definitely showed their American Spirit!

Time to "refuel" at "Columbia River Coffee Roasters" located just under Astoria Bridge. They have great roasted coffee, my favorite is the "Saddleback Mountain" blend. Perfect place to hang out rain or shine!
Time to start heading back to Manzanita...but not before stopping in charming little Gearhart, just off Hwy 101. It's like being transported to the East Coast! Be sure to check out "Pacific Crest Cottage" (726 Pacific Way, Gearhart) There's a ton of treasures inside, but the real fun is outside!

Right next door is "Seven D's Nursery" that has fabulous plants and fresh produce, it's enough to turn even a brown thumb into a bright green thumb!

On the other side, you will find "Fitzgerald's" a wonderful home interior store front. Be sure to check out the sale room, we found some good deals. A warm 4th of July greeted us as we entered the store...I just love The 4th of July!

Lunch time in Gearhart means stopping at "The Pacific Way Cafe", yummy for the tummy!
Last stop before we head back to Manzanita was "Romancing the Home" as we turned right onto Hwy 101 out of Gearhart. My head was quickly filled with great decorating ideas, be sure to check it out!

By the time we arrived home, the guys and dogs were in full 4th of July spirit! This is what happens when you leave the "game warden's" home alone too long!
Happy 4th to all!

  1. We currently live in Arizona, but have a condo in Seaside, Oregon. Romancing The Home was / is one of my all time favorite places to shop! Thanks for sharing this! I miss the beach and shopping there!
