Pickathon

August for us began attending the 11th annual indie roots music festival,"Pickathon". It's truely a music lovers paradise! It's in Happy Valley at my husband's sister and brother in-law's 80 acres Pendarvis Farm .
The main stage area has beautiful flowing sun shades stretched across the meadow. They were a very welcomed comfort providing shade in the 100 degree temps.
But at night they took on a whole new feeling! Magical is the first work that comes to my mind.
Pickathon is a leader in green festivals. One stage is reached by a short hike in the woods and is powered by solar energy. On our way to hear some music on the "woods stage" we had to cross the "Boggie Trail", no there were no ugly mean trolls, we just had to dance our way past!
Creative campers had nature art every turn we made! I found the perfect spot to hear one of my favorite artist "Laura Gibson" a giant plus is she is from Portland. Check her out she has a beautiful voice! One of the things I love about the Pickathon is the variety of music and the variety of people that attend the festival!

Freckles the "farm dog" and his girlfriend Dusty even enjoyed the music!

Toasting with "maple/bacon" ice cream, (I know it sounds really gross, but it actually was really good!) to yet another great Pickathon! I'm already looking forward to next year! Check out their website for more pictures and to listen to samples of music...you'll be planning for next summer too! http://www.pickathon.com/

  1. Wow, I can't believe it's THE FARM...it's really been transformed! Great Pic's SS Yhey make you really want to attend, even in 100' temps!
